Lawyer Jorge Monastersky filed a criminal complaint for investigation into a suspected crime due to serious indications of foreign interference in the Argentine information system and destabilization of President Javier Milei's government. In a message shared on his social media X account, the lawyer stated: 'I have filed a criminal complaint for investigation into a suspected crime due to serious indications of foreign interference in the Argentine information system and destabilization of President Javier Milei's government.' 'We are facing an issue that compromises essential rules of the democratic system,' he added. 'This must be investigated,' Monastersky added. Furthermore, he pointed out: 'The organized dissemination of false or manipulated content, with external funding and regional reach, is not a minor phenomenon: it directly impacts public debate and, in electoral contexts, can influence popular will.' 'In a constitutional state of law, the possible intervention of structures linked to another country in the formation of public opinion cannot be admitted or relativized,' he asserted and added: 'The intervention of the Judicial Power is not optional: it is a responsibility.' 'To investigate, clarify, and determine responsibilities—whether by action, omission, or even for having been instrumentalized—is what corresponds. Institutional sovereignty is also protected.' Meanwhile, it was reported that the complaint was filed by email this Friday before the Federal Justice. The impetus for the case is based on a communiqué from the State Intelligence Secretariat dated April 2, 2026, which Monastersky cited, in which it had already informed the Federal Justice and the Public Prosecutor's Office about the activities of an organization nicknamed 'The Company', made up of Russian citizens, with international resources and links in Argentina.
